Since 2003, Nicholas V. Petragnani, Jr. has served as Regional Director of CPC's Central New York office in Syracuse. In this role, Mr. Petragnani focuses on the financing of new and existing multifamily rental housing and new or redeveloped for sale housing targeted to both low-moderate income and conventional markets.
Shortly after starting at CPC, Mr. Petragnani focused on revitalizing Syracuse's Downtown and partnered with City Hall to develop a former factory into loft market-rate rental apartments, a move considered risky. Thanks to this innovative effort, many attractive and affordable developments have been developed Downtown, creating a desire for residential living. To date, CPC has financed a total investment of $39 million in 16 mixed-use residential conversion in Downtown Syracuse. This represents 24% of all downtown units and 46% of all new units.
Mr. Petragnani's region now covers all of Western New York.
Prior to CPC, Mr. Petragnani was with Fiscal Advisor & Marketing, Inc., of Syracuse, where he served as Director of the Economic and Community Development Division. He specialized in assisting governmental entities and private developers with structuring financing packages to facilitate various development projects.
Mr. Petragnani's previous experience includes serving as Vice President of the Community Initiatives Development Corporation (CIDC). While at CIDC, he was a Technical Assistance provider to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development under the HOME, Community Housing Development Organization and Community Development Block Grant programs. He has worked with municipalities and not-for-profit corporations throughout the United States to facilitate community development, develop affordable housing, organize Community Housing Development Organizations, and help build development capacity for these organizations. He also served as Assistant Director for Business Retention in the City of Syracuse Office of Economic Development from 1994 to 1996. While serving in this position, he managed a team of professionals responsible for proactively fulfilling the various needs of existing businesses, both large and small.
Mr. Petragnani earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University.
