CPC continues to improve the quality of housing in Central Harlem with a $1.156M construction loan for the substantial rehab of two attached 19th century three-story brick walk-up buildings on the south side of West 130th Street between Lenox and Fifth Avenues. Part of the 28 semi-attached row houses known as Astor Row, designated as a historic landmark by the NYC Landmark Preservation Commission in August, 1981, the project will also benefit from $330,000 in HPD funds under its Preservation Participation Loan (PLP) Program.
Upon completion, each building will contain two two-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom duplex garden apartment. Below market monthly rents for the improved apartments will be 130% of the area median income (AMI) at $2.247 for the two-bedroom apartments and $2,592 for the three-bedroom duplexes.
To date, CPC has committed construction and permanent financing for over 7,000 units in Central Harlem.
