On June 11, 2010, CPC hosted its fifth Hudson Valley Main Street Summit series at the Public Safety Building in Poughkeepsie, NY. This highly attended conference was sponsored by CPC, the City of Poughkeepsie and Hudson River Housing, Inc. The event focused on efforts made to revitalize downtown Poughkeepsie, the role colleges & universities play in redeveloping diverse downtowns, and the value of implementing energy efficiency upgrades and available incentives for commercial & residential building owners.
Mayor John C. Tkazyik, City of Poughkeepsie, made welcoming remarks and underlined the many steps made by Poughkeepsie in an effort to revitalize its downtown while greening existing mixed-use buildings with energy efficiency retrofits. Gail Webster, Executive Director, HRH, welcomed attendees on behalf of Hudson River Housing, Inc., a longtime partner of CPC, and spoke of the organization's dedication to building strong, sustainable communities by developing and preserving quality affordable housing.
